Cute sock monkey Sep 22, 2009
By DHB The monkey is adorable when finished. I didn't make the accessories since I made this for my baby and knew that the small pieces would get lost. You don't need a sewing machine...I made this by hand and it turned out well. Don't forget to buy some stuffing to go along with it, otherwise you can't make it!

ITS A KIT NOT A MONKEY Apr 05, 2011
By Allieluvs This product was good....i wasn't expecting it to be a KIT. But i stuck it out and took some old needle and tread and made the monkey in the end it looked good overall and i was proud of the end object. so i bought another and made it for my boyfriend. Great product if you are into putting it together ....the directions were easy to fallow and all but there was no stuffing so i took some from some old teddy bears and put it in the monkey. ALL THE SELLER NEEDS TO DO IS MENTION THAT IT IS A KIT AND NOT A FULLY MADE ONE.

NOT a good value Jan 02, 2011

I received this sock monkey kit from a friend for Christmas. A cute idea, but I cannot recommend buying it. The kit is made in China. Instructions are printed there, as well. I'm an experienced seamstress and definitely know confusing instructions when I read them. Some steps in the assembly of this sock monkey are left out entirely. I can't imagine how a beginner would handle this. Regardless, the actual kit is minimal in quality as well as content. The needed fiberfill stuffing is not included. Plus the monkey ends up being fairly small. Definitely not worth the price for everything you'll need to complete this monkey. You'd be far better off going to almost any store that sells toys and buying a pre-made monkey. You'll see exactly what you're getting this way, not have to go through the tedious effort of sewing it yourself (a lot of it by hand) and likely pay LESS than the total cost of making this kit.
