I bought this for my daughter who is one year old and her sister 3 1/2 years old loves it just as much as the younger one does. It took my one year old a week or two to be able to turn the knob and make the bear pop up. The toy is well made and cute. It was a hit at her birthday party too and all of the kids were older than her.

Cute, colorful and bright.
Rotate handle to pop out the little bear.
Sometimes pops up too fast, but works quite well.
My niece and nephew love it!

This old fashioned toy teaches just a little something different, in my opinion. I love that my son has to learn to continuously turn the crank, and then WAIT for the bear to pop out. The box is decorated nicely with interesting scenes and the mechanism works great. My only disappointments are the difficulty of putting the bear back in, and the hinge on the lid is not that strong/sturdy.

I purchased this toy for a group of 3-5 year olds and they loved it. Were fascinated. They didn't seem to have ever seen a jack in the box before. I chose the bear over clown, etc., so that they would not be frightened. And that worked well, too. Have not used it extensively or in unsupervised situation, and the children definitely like to see if they can hold the top down so the bear can't jump out. Hopefully, it will be durable.

I tried this toy for my 2 year old daughter today. She gets so much joy out of it. Everytime the teddy bear pops up she screams and giggles with laughter. Schylling classic toys are the best, they have many more that are great. This toy is safe and is a lot of fun for children.
